Do you find that most evenings you promise yourself that you are going to eat better the following day , tomorrow I will start to change my eating habits. Then the alarm goes off you press snooze once , twice , three times maybe and then the mad dash begins , no time for meal planning no time to make your snacks for the day and put them in cute container like you see in instagram. A slice of toast and slug of coffee and then a rush to the car where you join the traffic and wait. I am all about making things easier on myself if I can find a short cut I will take it . Break fast for me is essential I wake up hungry and what I eat for this meal usually predicts the entire days food. If I eat something high in sugar then I am on a sugar rollercoaster the whole day , up and down and never satisfied . A high protein breakfast is perfect , I get to start the day ready to roll and roll more evenly with no energy dips or surges. Keeping the protein levels up through out the day is essential to keep me satisfied and to stop me from reaching for that pastry or sugary "health" bar. I do this by having high protein snacks around 11am and 3pm depending on how I am feeling. Roasted chickpeas are so healthy tasty and nutritious having a bag in my car or beside my desk at work is my way of always having a great snack to hand when the munchies strike. They are a great alternative to nuts which can cause allergic reactions and they are deceptively high in fat , a handful can be hundreds of calories way more than you need for an in-between meals snack . I urge you to give them a try I am sure you will love them as much as I do .
